PACIFIER
A half-naked,
three-year old boy, photographed in the government relocation site
Towerville in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, has yet to let go of his
pacifier and already he is preoccupied with an improvised cart used by
aguadors (drawers of water). But he appears to be playing with the
cart instead of working with it. Which is not surprising, for what is
there for a child to play with in Towerville where residents are too poor
to afford even the cheapest toys for their children? At least he has his
pacifier and the cart to play with. The boys and girls behind him though
have to content themselves with the soil.
