PHOTO OF THE WEEK: SCREAMS
AND SQUIRMS
The
loudness of the protest against oil price hikes, held in Baguio City (north of
Manila) Aug. 16, was obviously taking its toll on the little boy. The boy –
seen here beneath a scaffolding made of pinewood – was photographed as he was
struggling mightily to shield his ears from the banging of the kitchenware
behind him and the shouts of protesters around him. If policy makers had the
sensitivity of this boy, the prices of petroleum products should not be as high
as they are today. Somebody once said that at times there are lessons that
grown-ups could learn from a child. Photo by Ace Alegre/BULATLAT.COM We want to know what you think of this photo. |
