Social justice is Negros sacadas' (seasonal sugar workers) centuries-old cry in the midst of land monopoly by the island province's landlord clans and their continuing stranglehold under a system of exploitation. In the next few months, as they brace for another round of "tiempo muerto," the farm workers will take to the streets to turn their pain into a collective struggle for land, justice, and a better future.
