Churches, groups, individuals and people’s organizations gathered at EDSA Shrine for a prayer vigil against the pork barrel system. The event followed the Million People March in various cities in the Philippines and abroad to end corruption in government.

Police earlier tried to block progressive groups under the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (New Patriotic Alliance) from joining the prayer vigil. They relented after people at the shrine chanted “Papasukin!” (Let them in!)
