MANILA – Youth-students who joined the March 15 nationwide peoples’ protests against oil deregulation law, oil overpricing and oil-VAT demonstrated how President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino is reacting to peoples’ problems. They called this demo as “Noynoying.” Instead of ‘planking,’ they do a little play-acting, or a parody, of “Noynoy” Aquino inaction on peoples’ pleas against the weekly oil price hikes.
“Guess what he’s doing there,” said Vencer Crisostomo, chairman of Anakbayan and emcee of the program held at the Elliptical road in Quezon City before the protesters drove a caravan to the oil companies’ head offices in Makati. Crisostomo pointed to a participating protester, who was seen lounging at the street, looking bored while chain-smoking.
“And this one, what is she doing?” Crisostomo asked, putting the spotlight on another student who looks like she’s daydreaming. Protesters shouted: “Dreaming of Grace Lee?”
Another student was on the phone for a long time. Another just sat there plainly doing nothing. In “Noynoying,” Anakbayan said some students will sit down in the middle of certain major roads in Metro Manila while adopting “the president’s trademark vacant stare.”
Crisostomo urged the leaders of peoples’ organizations to also do a “Noynoying,” to which COURAGE chairman Ferdie Gaite and KMU chairman Bong Labog cooperated, to loud laughter among protesters, including from Gabriela Rep. Emmi de Jesus.
The protesters generally criticized President Aquino for playing deaf and blind, for not acting on the consumers’ issues against the abuses of what they call as foreign oil cartel and for simply pretending like he is doing something when he is just coming out with stop-gap measures such as the derided Pantawid Pasada program.
The protesters demand the scrapping or reduction of VAT on oil, and the scrapping or suspension of Oil Deregulation Law.

Ann – cguro isa ka sa mga nabubulag o nag bubulagan sa KATOTOHANANG nangyayri sa bansa natin. Do you even know why those students were there instead of going to school? Maybe you should use your little brain in your head, try to work it out. Have you ever tried to participate in a rally? Have you ever fight for your country? Naku for sure HINDI PA, kasi nasa bahay ka lang! nag “NO-NOYNOYING”. 😛

ang hirap naman kasi sa iba nating kababayan, tumatanggap lang ng biyaya nagsasalita pa. Kung wala kang naintindihan, wag ka nalang sana mag komento.
Pwede ka namang magtanong muna. Kunwari, bakit sila nag welga? Ano bang meron? May dahilan ba? ngayon, matapos mong usisahin, magsalita ka kung ano nasa isip mo kung may isip ka. Ganun dapat ang wag sumaway ng walang dahilan kundi ang kati lang ng dila o daliri.

Discontented people will always find reasons to be discontented & they will always blame others for it. Just 2 days ago, “Philippine stock index soared to a new historic high” is on the news, but there’s just no pleasing certain groups, is there?
Pag tinanong mo naman ano ba ginagawa nila para maiahon sarili nilang buhay, wala. Puro lang reklamo & welga lang. Just like those students who are “noynoying” who should’ve stayed in their classes & study! Dagdag mo pa yung attitude nilang yan… naku, I think that’s how some of them would look like in 5 years: tulala o tulog sa bahay kasi wlang trabaho. -_-

Actually, the minds of the people were focused as Noynoy being the son of Cory and Ninoy and also as the brother of Kris Aquino. They didn’t think what could he possibly do for the country. Nung simula palang sa senate alam ng lahat na walang ginagawa si noynoy. Tsk. OUST na!
