The viewing deck of Liberty Park in Jersey City lays serene as it awaits an approaching rain while the grey sky casts a gloomy brush on Manhattan’s skyline. New York looks desolate but not till you feel its subway sounds, of millions of feet rushing to work, and images that paint the city’s multi-ethnic habitat with diverse languages, cultures, and faces. The city beckons for Filipinos out of work in their own country to look for a welcoming space in this city that never sleeps.
