Long Weekend, Brief Respite

Small single-engine motorized fishing boats are docked at the sea wall in this northern fishing village in Currimao, Ilocos Norte (464 kms north of Manila) as fisherfolk take a break from their work during the observance of All Souls’ Day. After the lull however, the fisherfolk went back to the daily business of earning a living, and begin their tiring day in the wee hours of the morning. The long weekend served as a brief respite for these fisherfolk, who have to work from dawn to dusk.
