Madilim. Alangang mapusyaw na abuhin at itim.

Madilim. Madilim na madilim ang dulot ng piring.

Tumutulo ang aking uhog sa sangsang ng amoy ng tinta

Ng dyaryong ‘pinantakip at ipinulupot sa aking mukha

At saka waring pinalitadahan ng pagkit ng teyp

Na siyang tuluyang gumapi sa nalalabing ilaw.

Malamig. Dumadaiti ang lamig na dulot ng armalayt

Sa lagkit ng pawis sa aking noo. Malamig sa balat

At malagkit na malagkit ang upuang plastic

Na kumakaskas sa pawis ng siko kong nanginginig.

Ramdam ko ang pag-angat ng aking puwit sa tinig

At titig na matalim na waring naglalagos sa aking piring.

Sino ba kayong mga dumukot at nagdala sa akin dito?

Sino ba sa atin ang biktima at sino ang tagapagligtas?

Kayo ba ang kapwa ko biktimang bumibiktima

Sa mga tagapagligtas ng biktima? Sino? Sino kayo?

Bakit di tayo kapwa ipahamak ng putok ng inyong baril

At ng talas ng katotohanan ng tugmaan kong matatabil?

At kung tayo nga ay ipahamak, saka kapwa magpatawad.

Subalit di kailangang agad makalimot kahit nagpatawad,

Dahil mag-iiwan ng pangit na marka ang posas sa ‘king braso,

Dahil mag-iiwan ng ngitngit ang dulo ng baril sa ‘king sentido,

Dahil mag-iiwan ng dilim ang duwag na piring sa ‘king mata,

Dahil paghihigantihan ang tagapagligtas ng kanyang biktima!

A, kung gayo’y kayo nga ang matwid na tagapagligtas!

At kayo rin ang magiging biktima ng aming Kapatawaran!

Ay, kamatayan! O, kamatayang walang kasing tamis!

Ihimlay mo na ako kapiling ng tula ng mga gahis,

Sa ritmo at awit ng putok ng baril ng mga salarin,

At sa ngalit ng pagganti ng tugmaan kong matatabil!
